The road to Wembley begins

Sunday, 25 October 2009

Well, the road to Wembley begun in August, but now we've reached the First Round Proper of the world's oldest football competition.

Chelsea were the winners of last season’s FA Cup beating Everton 2-1 in the Final, in May. Less than three months later, 762 teams started out in the 129th FA Cup, and now with six qualifying rounds completed, the clubs from League One and League Two, join the non-league sides who have made it through the qualifying rounds.

With the final taking place on May 15th, the Wembley arch is quite a distance away.
